Jeremy and Jocelyn first connected on Bumble in September 2018, with a cheesy yet classic opener from Jocelyn: “I mustache you a question,” a playful nod to Jeremy’s photo featuring a curled-up mustache. Little did either of them know that this silly message would spark the start of something so special.

But life has a funny way of putting things on pause. Due to the passing of Jocelyn’s beloved Grandpa Louis, their plans for a first date were put on hold, and their conversations fizzled out. Maybe it was the universe’s way of saying, "not yet." Fast forward to January 2019, when Jeremy decided to slide back into Jocelyn’s DMs, reminding her that she owed him a date—one he was eager to collect on. So, they agreed to meet at Lokal, a cozy burger joint in Miami.

Jeremy, naturally running late and a bundle of nerves, spotted Jocelyn across the bar. Standing confidently in her black leather jacket, petite yet commanding, she took his breath away. Gathering his courage, he walked over and introduced himself. From the first hello, it felt like they’d known each other for a lifetime. But of course, Jeremy couldn’t resist causing a little trouble—tricking Jocelyn into trying honey mustard made with mayo (something she despises). A near catastrophe, but Jocelyn’s easygoing nature turned what could have been a date-ending moment into a laugh they still share to this day.

After burgers, the plan was to catch some live jazz. Except… Jeremy, in classic Jeremy fashion, had mixed up the nights, and instead, they found themselves at a hardcore death metal concert. Though mortified, Jeremy was relieved when Jocelyn rolled with it, embracing the unexpected turn. What was supposed to be a refined evening turned into one of the most unforgettable dates they’d ever had. And fun fact: Jeremy still considers his shirt from that first date his lucky charm!

Fast forward to May 2022 in Key West, where Jeremy was preparing for his first 100-mile run. Unbeknownst to Jocelyn, he had been secretly planning to propose, with the big question to be asked at the finish line. But nature had other plans—the Saharan dust and brutal humidity cut Jeremy’s run short at 24 miles. Still, love doesn’t need a perfect plan. The next day, with a string quartet playing and surrounded by family and friends (and Pickles as the ring bearer), Jeremy got down on one knee and said, “Life is short, and so are you—will you marry me?” It was perfect in its imperfection, and Jocelyn said yes.

What Jocelyn loves most about Jeremy is his kind, gentle heart. She saw it when he lovingly rehabilitated her dachshund, Hoagie, after his 4th surgery, and she witnesses it every day in the way he is an amazing father to Logan. For Jeremy, Jocelyn has changed his life in so many ways—from teaching him how to cook to showing him how to embrace life’s ups and downs with grace and humor. While Jeremy is no stranger to humor, Jocelyn's sharp and sarcastic wit was something he had to quickly adjust to—and absolutely loves.

Their love has always felt easy, natural, and right. Jeremy, the hopeless romantic, learned to play Goo Goo Dolls songs to serenade Jocelyn, while Jocelyn, though not much of a hugger, showers him with all the hugs he needs—her own quiet way of showing love.

Together, they share a passion for music, concerts, traveling, true crime, dogs, old fashioneds, and, of course, food. These shared loves have become the foundation of so many cherished memories, yet they also support each other’s individuality—whether it’s Jeremy’s love for 50-mile runs or Jocelyn’s passion for spa days.

Today, they are proud of the life they’ve built, especially the joy that comes from their son Logan, and their soon-to-be second addition (yes, baby #2 is arriving in April 2025!). As they look toward the future in Howey in the Hills, with their fur babies Pickles and Pepper by their side, they’re excited for what’s to come and eager to continue this beautiful journey together.
